The 2009 Pennsyltucky Punk Bike Invitational was held on New Years Eve and Day this year. Jamie Bock took home the overall title this year, and a trophy made from the items collected during the scavenger hunt prologue.
This years events included the Prologue which had riders braving sub 20 degree tempuratures on the streets of Jim Thorpe. Their task was to find the items on an actual Jim Thorpe resident’s shopping list as fast as possible. Mike Yarnell managed to find Cigs (empty pack), Beer (empty can), Lotto Tix (trashed), and Ice (cubed) in under 5 minutes and all within 3 blocks of our house!
Next up was the indoor freeride couse featuring a double humped roller, a tetter-totter, a banked corner, and a skinny along with some random pallets and slalom section. Results were based on time plus penalties for dabs, all of which happened on the skinny. Jamie won this event in a time of 15.9 seconds and one dab, with Topher picking up second.

The Limbo was the next event. We started off with a nice high bar that even a cross bike could get under.

As the bar dropped the techniques changed.

Until we got to this:
Yarnell pulled off the lowest height at 2′9″
We were going to do the Bunny Hop next, but everyone sucked except Topher. And no one could hope to compete with his style.

After that the night devolved into random games of Foot Down, Skidding, Track Skidding and mess with the passed out Yarnell. None of which could be documented due to the lack of sober judges.
The next day we all arose slowly and cooked and ate for about 3 hours. 3 pounds of bacon, 2 loaves of french toast, a 12 egg omelet, lots and lots of coffee and more.

After we were properly fortified for a cold day of riding everyone kited up in their New Years best and we headed out.

During the course of the days ride special events were held for points, a hill climb (Jamie), downhill (Yarnell) and sprint (Mattie).

The day ended with pork and sauerkraut, and the awards.

The top five were:
1st- Jamie Bock
2nd- Yarnell
3rd- Topher
4th- Mattie
5th- Pete
