The rain has been continuing into the fall and continues to make conditions hit or miss. Dan and I went for a ride yesterday and it alternated between spots of sun, cold rain, and sleet with 30mph winds. It was a great ride. Most of the leaves are down, so spotting some trails is a bit tough on Broad, Pisgah and Nessy. In case anyone was wondering the Fall Foliage rides were canceled this year due to the sponsors lack of insurance coverage. It is archery season, so keep off SGL’s except Sunday and orange colors are recommended at all times. Enjoy the fall.

With Fall coming on the rain seems to have dropped off a bit. This weekend is calling for sunny days in the low 70’s with cool nights. The leaves are not changing yet, but it is starting to feel like Fall. Look for posts on upcoming guided rides for Fall Foliage Weekends. Get out and enjoy!

I have not been posting too many update, because every week seems the same! Hot, but not too hot, humid, but not too humid, but rain, lots of rain. We have been getting at least one major thunderstorm every week, all summer. The trails that get muddy, are muddy. Any fall line descents are an eroded mess. The powerline trail down from Twin Peaks is unrideable, and a tricky walk down. On Switchback between the cemetery and 5 Mile Tree there are some big trees down. I expect this trend to continue into the fall. If something changes I’ll post an update.

Looking good! Warm with occasional thunderstorms to cool things off. This is a dam release weekend for  Lehigh Gorge whitewater. All trails are packed and mostly dry. White Rhododendrons are in full bloom.

Perfect weekend in Jim Thorpe! The Mountain Laural is in full bloom. Trails are a little wet, but not too bad. Go ride Pisgah, then grab your kayak because it’s a Dam release weekend on the Lehigh River. Throw in a trail run with the dogs and you’ve got a triathlon without the geek factor. Finish it off with a beer and food at Flow followed by a show are the Opera House. At least that’s what my weekend looks like. Enjoy
